Today, Air Products announced it has donated $15,000 to Teach F or America – Greater Baton Rouge, specifically to support the organization’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) efforts in Donaldsonville in Ascension parish.

May 15, 2024 - BATON ROUGE, La. – “Learning about science and technology in the classroom can help students at a young age begin a lifelong interest in these subjects, and we’re proud to support Teach For America’s STEM efforts in Donaldsonville,” said Danna LeBlanc, Commercial Executive Director of Air Products’ Louisiana Clean Energy Complex. “When operational in nearby Darrow, our new clean hydrogen production facility will create 170 jobs with good-paying salaries for decades to come, which is why we want to help plant the seeds of science education in the community now.”

“Teach For America Greater Baton Rouge is grateful to Air Products for their support and commitment to education. Our partnership is crucial in our work to recruit and retain more high-quality educators for Donaldsonville schools,” said Laura Vinsant, Executive Director of Teach For America Greater Baton Rouge. “This gift will allow professional development opportunities for Teach For America educators in Donaldsonville, from coaching, online resources, and more that form an ecosystem of support for our teachers.”

The $15,000 grant from the Air Products Foundation for Teach For America will go towards recruiting and developing teacher talent to grow educational excellence in Donaldsonville. This funding is in addition to Air Products’ community giving of $1 million a year in the Lake Maurepas area through the Air Products Lake Maurepas Community Fund.

Looking forward, Air Products strives to continue its more than five-decade history of safe and responsible operations in Louisiana, both through its proposed Louisiana Clean Energy Complex currently under development and in future investments.
